my go-to breakfast
(i randomly saw this on a food prompts post but it was a good idea so i'm doing one even though i'm not a food blogger. i do love food though.)
in my family, we always have eggs for breakfast, so i've tried them loads of different ways- also because i do end up getting tired of them quickly. interestingly enough though i always come back to scrambled eggs. this is my new favourite way to make them.
firstly, prepare any toppings/extras you're adding to the egg. this is usually cheese for me so i'll just grate it, but i've been starting to like onions in them too these days. put everything on a plate or bowl so you can just add your egg on later. (this is done first so the egg doesn't need to sit too long in the pan, and so it'll be hot enough to melt the cheese).
then make the egg- i use two usually, but of course it doesn't really matter. use the lowest heat possible, so they don't overcook. without mixing/breaking the yolk, pour the eggs into the pan. as the egg is cooking, carefully mix up the whites of the eggs only. when it looks mostly cooked, you can break and mix in the yolks too. i do this because i feel it tastes a lot silkier- and it's more satisfying too so that's an added bonus.
as the eggs cook, make sure you watch the heat and turn it off before it's fully done as the heat from the pan will finish it off nicely. this is just personal preference though: i like them just a little bit runny because they are smoother that way!
now the only thing left is to plate it up and add salt and butter! and there you have it- the eggs that are the reason i get out of bed in the morning. i will say this is a lot healthier than some of the other scrambled egg versions i've had- particularly the one where i added mayonnaise to them. it's also the first time i haven't added milk in- i usually do but then i'd have to use the microwave/a different pan and i really can't be bothered.
anyways, that was my attempt at explaining out a recipe, and i do hope it was clear enough- and that it tastes good if you try it!
(p.s: i will usually have this with some toast and coffee. nothing extraordinary there but i'd just like to mention it since the egg technically isn't the full breakfast. it's still the star of the show though)
